experimental recipe
This afternoon, "J" and I tried another experimental recipe: tempeh with marinate of maple syrup balsamic vinegar, tamari, and garlic, over couscous with asparagus, scallions, and lime juice, topped with plums, mint, and olive oil. J chopped the green vegetables, and credits me with the rest of the cooking. It was quite a bit of work, but not as much as some of our experimental recipes, and delicious enough that it's worth trying again.

Vegetarian cooking can be kind of bland, but the tag line of [Who remembers the source?]Fried Green Tomatoes – "The secret's in the sauce" – really makes the difference in vegetarian recipes.
