gym - Rounding up the Usual Suspects

Although "J" and I generally get a fair amount of exercise from ordinary physical work around the house, and sometimes walks, we've been slackers about formal exercise. This morning we finally got around to going to the gym to work out some areas that routine activity doesn't exercise very well.

These details are mostly notes to myself:
I started with 35 minutes on the stair machine. The machine says I climbed 98 flights of stairs, burned 238 calories, averaged 48 steps per minute, and climbed 1681 steps. I was sweating like crazy by the end.

I continued with strength, working arms and shoulders:
Bench press: 65 pounds, 15 repetitions
Skull crushers: 25 pounds, 25 repetitions
Barbell arm curls: 55 pounds, 10 repetitions; 45 pounds, 15 repetitions
Bench press: 65 pounds, 15 repetitions
Skull crushers: 25 pounds, 25 repetitions
Barbell arm curls: 45 pounds, 15 repetitions

It was a good work-out, and I'm sure I'll feel the burn later today.
