gym, tool shopping - Rounding up the Usual Suspects
Steve's Livejournal
gym, tool shopping

This afternoon, I bought a set of countersink drill bits at Harbor Freight. I have a philosophy about buying things there: it's an OK place to buy stuff when "good enough" is good enough.

Earlier in the day (and mostly notes to myself), we went to the gym.
I started out with a work-out on the stair machine, about the same amount of stairs, but at a much faster pace. I climbed it for 24:02 minutes:seconds, climbed 103 flights of stairs, 1650 steps, burned 234 calories, and ran an average heart rate of 145. I was sweating a lot.

I followed that with a strength work-out, concentrating on arms and shoulders:
Bench press: 65 pounds, 15 repetitions
Barbell skull crushers: 4 pounds, 15 repetitions
Barbell arm curls: 45 pounds, 15 repetitions
Lat pull downs (hands narrow): 85 pounds, 15 repetitions
It wasn't the most extensive strength workout, but it's better than nothing.
