two films, guests, and the SIFF closing night party - Rounding up the Usual Suspects

two films, guests, and the SIFF closing night party

We saw the 12:30 pm film, Eighth Grade, with two guests: our friend "K" and her daughter "M". I had planned to skip it in favor of brunch, since I hadn't seen our brunch friends in a while, but I decided to join the fun at the last minute, after reading that it was on the Fools' top-ten list (and was later announced as the Golden Space Needle Award audience favorite). Although I didn't like the film that much, I enjoyed it, and M really liked it.

For a late lunch, we went to try out the restaurant Sal y Limon, which replaced 10 Mercer, named after its own address. My vegetarian enchilada was very good, but the quesadillas were much too small for the price.

J and I proceeded to the Egyptian for the closing night film, Don't Worry, He Won't Get Far on Foot, at 6 pm. It was good, but ran out of steam toward the end, and came on too strong about Alcoholics Anonymous.

J wasn't up for the party, so she went home, around the same time "T" returned from Bellevue. I continued to the party at the Museum of History and Industry. The party was fun, but I'm too tired to write much about it now. Maybe I'll add an update later.
